As Design Director and founder of Cactus and Hill, Beau Hilliar is an award-winning creative mind in landscape architecture. His 15 years in the industry have given him experience, both locally and abroad, in crafting quality environments for mixed-use, multi-residential, master planning, public, and private projects.
Beau strives to create unique places which embrace culture, users and their lifestyles. In every project, Beau looks to increase the social, ecological and economic benefits, by creating synergy between landscapes and the people who use them.
He adopts a pragmatic approach to his work and relishes a new design challenge to create flow between architecture, landscape and the environment.

Beau has provided Landscape Architecture services to a number of significant clients including: QUT, Queensland Rail, DTMR, Devine Limited, AMP Capital, Leighton Properties, Mirvac Group, Laing O’Rourke, Stockland, Australand, Property Solutions, Austcorp, FKP Property Group, Pask Group & Chalegrove Properties (UK).
Beau is a registered member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA). Since graduating from QUT in 2001, Beau has successfully managed multiple award winning projects during his career, including a UDIA National award for excellence for The Barracks Project, and three AILA awards for the SW1 Global Village Project, which “successfully employs green infrastructure in a seamless way to benefit the amenity and liveability of medium density housing and provides a model of sustainable mixed use development (Architecture AU, 2012).” Read about SW1 project.
