Landscape Architectural Services

We believe it is important to encourage children to grow, learn, interact and play within a carefully crafted environment. Cactus and Hill were appointed to provide Landscape Architecture services for Riverview Child Care Centre, a new centre in Nerang for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

The client’s objective to create an environment that was unique, engaging and exciting for children, was realised through the landscape design. Our team’s design promoted natural play, allowing children to discover, explore, interpret and interact with the environment. Achieved through the clever use of planting, furniture, play equipment, materials and finishes, natural play was reinforced through both active and passive play spaces. The design promotes play for various age groups, and included Active play, Learning play, Construction play and Imaginative play. Sensory experiences were promoted which engaged the primary senses of sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Sustainability and education opportunities within the landscape, through edible fruiting plants and integrating a composting system were also included.

Through our team’s design, we believe our services were key to creating an environment that was conducive for children to grow, learn and develop.
